The high-powered reggae triple bill of Batch, Ras Attitude and Perfect Giddimani brings a higher level of conscious dance music to the Bay Area’s house of reggae: Ashkenaz. On a whirlwind West Coast tour, this trio of new generation giants updates Rastafarian-drenched reggae in fresh, individual ways.
From St. Ann Parish, Jamaica, Perfect Giddimani offers his latest statements from “Journey of 1000 Miles” to “Back Again for the First Time.” Giddimani, who as a youngster was known as Little Ninja, began as a DJ in his home area, before recording his first song as a vocalist, “Lock Me Up,” in 2004. Five albums later he still has much to say in reggae. His Rasta message in our troubled world keeps tempo with the times.

Songs of truth are the core of St. Croix (Virgin Islands) vocalist Ras Attitude’s music, whether he’s singing his upbeat “Trodding Home,” sweetly elevating Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon in the Sky,” or freestyle sing-DJ-ing. While reggae is the pulse of Ras Attitude’s music, he mixes in sounds from soul to hip-hop.

Also from St. Croix, Batch is known as a solo singer, but has served in other bands, and toured as the lead singer and drummer in the band Motion. He is the founder of Sound V.I. Zion Records. Batch has collaborated with many of the contemporary reggae stars, and has recorded with Ras Attitude (the song “Wicked World” among others).
